Join Oregon’s Cannabis Community in Support of the California Growers Who Lost Everything in the October 2017 Firestorm
As you likely know, the October 2017 firestorm had a devastating effect on the California cannabis community. The tremendous losses that were endured due to these catastrophic fires will be extremely challenging for growers in this region because:
Over the last 18 months, California growers have spent their life savings getting permit and preparing for state licensure.
They don’t qualify for crop insurance like other farmers.
They can’t get loans like other business owners.
Due to the federal illegality of cannabis, these growers won’t qualify for federal emergency relief funds.
Buds Without Borders will collect all of the funds raised through this cross-state effort and then make a donation to the California Grower's Association Wildfire Recovery Fund.
This fund is being overseen by a panel of California Growers Association board members and residents who live in the counties affected by the fires. Funds will be distributed to those growers who had submitted their application for a recreational license prior to the fires and who have sustained severe damage or total loss.
Thank you for supporting the California cannabis community during this difficult time.
